Day 1: Our departure day dawned with overcast skies and the sad sight of a yacht hard up on the rocks of Green Point. The channel was a breeze with minimum depth of 2.1 metres near the entrance to Swan Bay but everything else well over 3 metres. There was a sunken houseboat near Pelican Flat and we heard this morning that it must have moved to places unknown within the channel. What fun!
As we motored towards Swansea Heads we were thrilled to see Ken madly waving and taking his ever excellent pictures.
While the sailing north was uneventful we did see plenty of wildlife. First we had a large basking seal (I like to think that this was a 'Seal of Approval') and soon after a large pod of dolphins stayed with us for half an hour.
